Two friends, a warehouse in East Flanders and a whole lot of envelopes
GoedkopeCosmetica.be is a webshop by Goedkoopverzenden, the company of Arne and Nikolai. For years we have been selling small products via bol.com and our own shops, sending them as letters instead of parcels. That is why we can offer make-up, skincare and razor blades from top brands for less than the shop.
How it started
Arne collected Belgian stamps and discovered that his duplicates were still valid for sending letters. Together with Nikolai that idea grew into GoedkopePostzegels.be. Soon we noticed something else: sellers on bol.com pay two to three euros in shipping per parcel, while a letter costs a fraction of that.
So we started selling small products that fit through the letterbox ourselves. First 500 euros of wholesale stock, sold for 600, and reinvested. From a student room to a kitchen table, to a shared house, to our own warehouse in East Flanders. Today, alongside this shop, we also run goedkopebatterijen.be and goedkopemondhygiene.be, always with the same recipe.
Why cosmetics?
A mascara, a lip balm or a pack of razor blades is small, light and something you buy again regularly anyway. Yet in most webshops you pay a parcel fee on top, or a hefty retail margin. We buy in bulk from official European wholesalers and ship in a sturdy envelope. You see that difference in the price, not in the product: you get exactly the same Maybelline, L'Oréal Paris, Gillette or CeraVe as in the shop, sealed and genuine.

Collector, numbers guy and the reason we ever started with stamps. Negotiates with wholesalers and keeps an eye on the margins.
Builds the webshops, the automation and the processes behind Goedkoopverzenden. Makes sure every order ends up in the right place by itself.
Valid Belgian stamps up to 36% cheaper than at the counter. It is also how we stamp our own shipments.
